FinEd Article Workshop for Doctoral Researchers

Are you in the middle of writing a scientific article or just starting to write an article? Would you like to get more support for your writing process or comments on your text? Would you like to know more about an international publishing process of a scientific article? Want to share thoughts and exchange experiences with other doctoral researchers about the writing process? To get peer support and tips for your own work?

Participate in an article workshop organised by the FinEd Network in the spring of 2019!

The Finnish Multidisciplinary Doctoral Training Network on Educational Sciences (FinEd) organises an article workshop for the doctoral researchers of its member units on 9−10 May 2019, in Tampere. The aim of the workshop is to offer additional support and guidance for doctoral researchers’ academic writing and publishing process. Furthermore, the FinEd Network wants to enhance networking among the junior and senior researchers in Finland.

During the spring, the participants can exchange thoughts about their writing process in a learning platform. On the 9th−10th of May there will be a two-day workshop in Tampere where the article drafts are discussed in small groups led by the mentors, the senior researches of the FinEd Network. In small groups, participants receive comments on their articles from their peers and the mentors. The two-day workshop also includes lectures on an academic writing process and an international publishing process. The language of the workshop is English, but the articles can also be in Finnish.

The participants of the workshop are required to commit themselves to the article writing process and to reading and commenting on the article drafts of the other participants, as well as taking part of the two-day session in Tampere.

The maximum number of participants will be 24 doctoral researchers. The travel and accommodation (one night in a double room) costs of the seminar and the meals are covered by the FinEd. The workshop venue will be Varala Sports Institute that is located next to the beautiful ridge Pyynikinharju, on the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi.

28 February: Deadline for applications.
18 March: Notices of acceptance for the participants
25 April: Submit your article for the workshop. Please note that your article does not have to be finished.
